BNG 517 - Nanotechnology in Bioengineering SystemsCredits 3Lecture / 3 hours per week An introduction to the basic concepts of nanosciences and the application of nanotechnology in biology and medicine. Fundamentals of design in nanoscience and nanotechnology are explored. Ethical and environmental implications in the rapid development of nanotechnology and molecular probe engineering are also discussed. Methods used in the research and development of bioengineering are described. The interface between nanosized materials and biomolecules, the application of nanoparticles and nanoassemblies, modeling of interactions between nanoparticles and cells and tissues, and nanomedicine are covered.
