CJS 374 - Victimization

3 credits
Explores historical and contemporary criminological perspectives regarding victimization. Special emphasis will be placed on the inter-relationships that exist between victims and offenders. The course will deal with victimization theories and address the role victim interest groups play in the implementation of socio-political criminal justice policies. Specific forms of victimization will be discussed in detail to illustrate the strengths and weakness present in how criminology and the criminal justice system have addressed violence.
