FIA 246 - Introduction to Painting/Thematic Development

3 credits credits
Studio
Prerequisites: FOU 110, 112
Introductory course in painting that enables students to develop independent and personal ideas as they relate to painting. After selecting a theme based on an objective source, such as landscape, still-life, or the figure, students research, generate, and manipulate that idea through a series of paintings. The course is designed to help each student establish an understanding of the importance of generating and developing ideas and concepts in their work. Faculty illustrate the development of theme by various artists.
