Topics typically include the human vocal and auditory systems, characteristics of speech signals, lossless tube model of speech production, time and frequency domain representations of speech, time-frequency speech analysis methods, homomorphic speech processing, speech coding, speech synthesis, speech recognition, pitch detection and processing, and acoustic preprocessing for speech recognition.
