ANT 377 - Cinema and Society

The sociological study of cinema in cultural and historical contexts. Explores the place of cinema in psychosocial discourse and social movements within and across social and cultural groups. Analysis of filmmaking combines with critical consumption and commercial review of film as social commentary, reflection, and change agent, and cinema as public forum. This course fulfills upper-level elective requirements for majors. Cross-listed with SOC 377
