Anthropology Minor

A student can request entrance to the minor program in sociology after completing at least 45 credits with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and with at least a 2.5 grade point average in his/her major. Requests must be approved by the Chair of the Sociology/Anthropology/Crime and Justice Studies Department. It is possible to have both a major and a minor in the Department : e.g. a major in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology. Students with majors outside the College of Arts & Sciences may complete a minor without meeting the CAS distribution requirements. Courses counting for the minor must be completed with a C- or higher.

 

Requirements


The minor in Anthropology requires completion of at least 18 credits, of which 9 must be at the upper division level.

Theory


Three (3) credits required.

Methods


Three (3) credits required. Complete the following course or an equivalent methods course in Psychology, Economics or Political Science can be substituted. In the case of a substitution, an additional 300 or 400 level ANT course is required.

Anthropology Electives


Nine (9) credits required: three upper-division courses  (ANT prefix only, 300 or 400 level).

Total Credits: 18
