The Judaic Studies minor is an interdisciplinary study of Jews and Judaism, including, but not limited to, historical, literary, linguistic and philosophical perspectives and approaches.  It is open to all interested students with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and with a 2.5 or higher GPA in the major.

From studies in this minor, the student should learn at least three things:

• knowledge of the history, philosophy, literature and languages of the Jews
• understanding of how historians, philosophers, literary critics and scholars of language frame and respond to humanistic subjects
• the value of studying a subject from different perspectives

Each student in the Judaic Studies minor is required to work closely with a faculty member in choosing courses offered through the minor. Although students have the flexibility to choose any course in the program, their advisors will guide them so the program does not become a non-disciplinary exercise in Jewish studies; instead the goal is to craft a plan that shows how diverse disciplines deal with a single subject. Students’ transcripts will note the completion of the minor.
