Sstudents may request admission to the minor program in sociology after completing at least 45 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and at least a 2.5 GPA in their majors. Requests must be approved by the Chair of the Sociology and Anthropology Department.

It is possible to have both a major and a minor in the department, e.g., major in Sociology, minor in Anthropology. Courses used to meet requirements for the minor may not be used to meet requirements of major.  Students with majors outside the College of Arts & Sciences may complete a minor without meeting the CAS Distribution requirements. Courses counting for the minor must be completed with a C- or higher.

A minor must be completed at the time of the degree and will be so noted on the student’s transcript.  A student cannot be readmitted to the University to complete only a minor.
