BFA in Art

The Department of Fine Arts offers a BFA in Art with four options of study: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, and Sculpture.  Each has a focused curriculum that is founded on a structured, sequential drawing requirement that provides a rich visual vocabulary and a basis for visual problem solving. Each culminates in a coherent body of creative work.

Fine Art students have ample space in which to pursue their work, juniors and seniors having private studio areas.

Fine Arts also has an active visiting artist program that brings well-known artists to the university on a regular basis to discuss their work, conduct workshops, and speak about current practices in the art world. Students exhibit in on and off-campus exhibitions. Academic excellence is recognized annually via department and college awards.
