				Second Degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in NursingYou have already earned a bachelor’s degree and now you know your career choice - nursing.  The accelerated  Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABS) is a hybrid program offering online classes complemented by face to face lab and clinical experiences.  The program builds on your prior learning experiences and prepares you to become a nurse. Prerequisites:
	A Bachelor’s degree in any field.Must complete 7 prerequisite courses before enrolling in the program. Admissions Requirements:Students interested in the Second Degree Accelerated BS program can have a bachelor’s degree in any field–it does not need to be a science field.  The first Bachelor’s degree must be from an accredited college or university. 
	GPA of 3.0 or better for your original degree.Complete 7 prerequisite courses before enrolling in the program.GPA of 3.2 is required for the prerequisites.
	
		Growth & Development Across the Life Span–3 creditsAnatomy & Physiology I with lab–4 creditsAnatomy & Physiology II with lab–4 creditsChemistry–3 creditsMedical Microbiology with lab–4 creditsNutrition–3 creditsIntroduction/Basic Statistics–3 credits3 letters of recommendation–all letters must be professional references and at least one must be an academic reference.A statement of purpose in which you outline your reasons for pursuing a career in nursing; your skills and strengths which will help you succeed in this accelerated program; and what challenges you anticipate (maximum 600 words).A professional resumeTEAS test scores are required for all students.A TOEFL score is required if you do not hold an undergraduate degree from U.S. higher education institution Application Deadline:  February 15, 2019 for August 2019 admission Academic Policies:The ABSN track follows the academic policies of the Baccalaureate Program with these exceptions: 
	Students are dismissed for the College of Nursing after 1 course failure (as evidenced by a course grade of C and below).     |
