4+1 Teacher Education for Undergraduates (BA/BS-MAT)

Admission Requirements

The requirements for admission to the BA/BS-MAT (also known as the 4+1 Program) are:

  • A minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
  • A completed BA/BS- MAT application submitted to the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions.
  • Completion of at least 30 credit hours.

BA/BS-MAT students are permitted to enroll in up to five education courses as an undergraduate. Students must successfully complete at least one MTEL exam for full admission to the MAT program. Students are strongly encouraged to complete all MTEL’s required for provisional licensure during the senior year.
