RN-BS Degree Track

The UMass Dartmouth College of Nursing & Health Sciences offers registered nurses an online baccalaureate program that builds on the RN’s nursing experience by providing a more in-depth study of the physical and social sciences, leadership and management, community and public health, research, and the humanities. The RN-BS degree track is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (https://www.aacnnursing.org/CCNE).  The RN-BS degree track offers nursing courses in an online learning environment.  Courses run in a seven week format with the exception of NUR 409 which runs for 14 weeks.

This program is offered as degree completion for those who already hold a valid RN License in the state they reside. Students may transfer non-nursing course credits from other institutions to meet most program requirements. A total of 31 online course credits must be taken at UMass Dartmouth. The 3 non-nursing credits may be satisfied with online, blended or traditional classroom courses offered through UMass Dartmouth Online & Continuing Education .

RN-BS degree applicants must show proof of a valid, unencumbered United States RN license and possess the functional capabilities to perform the skills and behaviors required of professional nurses.

Students in this track adhere to the same academic policies as the pre-licensure track option, except as noted above. For additional information, contact the Online & Continuing Education , 508.999.9202 or visit http://www.umassd.edu/rn-bs or contact the Nursing Program, 508.999.8586.
