Music Minor

The Music minor is available to any UMass Dartmouth student who meets the university requirement of 24 earned credits, a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or above, and passes an audition with the Department of Music. The minor is designed to allow students to develop their musical knowledge and abitlies through an individualized program of study designed with a music faculty advisor and approved by the department chair.

Required Courses:

18 credits, selected from at least two areas (for example, performance & theory; history & theory; music business & history), and with the approval of both the music department chair and the student’s music faculty advisor.  At least 9 credits must be taken at a 300 level or above.

 

Example of an appropriate History & Voice Performance Minor:
