Clinical Psychology Option MA
Academic Degree Requirements
The basic clinical program is a three-year, 60 credit program. Matriculated students will be expected to take three courses per semester for the three years plus two summer courses. Licensing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration for Certified Mental Health Counselors requires the master’s degree to comprise 60 credits.

Part III - Behavior Specialty
Part IV - Thesis/Comprehensive Exam
Research Competence
Each student must show proof of competence in research and its reporting. Students receiving the Master of Arts may choose to complete either a thesis or comprehensive exams (written and oral).

Course Availability and Schedule
Since this is a clinical program, most of our students are presently employed in the field of psychology/social work; therefore, all courses have start times in the middle to late afternoon to accommodate student schedules. Course schedule by years of study:
Research Psychology Option MA
The Research Psychology option is a two-year, 36-credit program. This program is typically full-time, but can accommodate students who wish to pursue the program part-time.
The following courses are required (24 credits)
*The following courses are electives: 12 credits required
- Up to 6 credits of 500-level courses. Choices must be approved by Graduate Program Director of General MA option.
Note
*It is strongly recommended that at least one of these courses be PSY 595. Applied Behavior Analysis Option MA
This master’s program is a three-year, 36-credit program. The Certificate in ABA is a two-year, 24 credit program. The Association for Behavior Analysis has verified specific ABA courses within the master’s and certificate programs toward the coursework requirements for eligibility to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) exam.
