BLS 339 - Racism, Crime and Justice

Requirements: Prerequisite: Upperclass standing or permission of instructor
An historic and contemporary overview of the relationship between white supremacy and the contemporary visions of ‘justice’. This course will focus on the political economies of race and punishment and highlight the relationship between racism, classism and hetero-patriarchy as they have become institutionalized through the criminal justice system.
