PSY 440 - Research Ethics Credits 3 Seminar / 3 hours per week Requirements: Prerequisite: PSY 101, 205, PSY 390 or PSY 391 or PSY 392 or PSY 393 or PSY 394; PSY majors only; Minimum Overall GPA of 2.75 Advanced seminar exploring the history and principles of ethical standards in experimental psychology. This course takes a case study approach to trace the evolution of ethical standards and practices within the field. Sample cases to be discussed may be the vaccine-autism link controversy, gender assignment, Milgram’s obedience studies, Harlow’s studies of attachment, and others. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking about ethics in psychological research. Graded
