Fine Arts Minor-General

Qualified students may complete a minor within the Department of Fine Arts by selecting courses from painting, printmaking, drawing and sculpture. The minor consists of 18 credits. To declare a minor, students must meet university requirements and be approved by the both Fine Arts Department and the department of the major. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 in all minor classes. A review of progress during junior reviews in the 2D or 3D area where the majority of the coursework has been completed.
The student selects 12 credits (4 courses) from the 200-level studio courses below; then chooses 6 credits (2 courses) from the 300-level.
A minor must be completed at the time of the degree and will be so noted on the student’s transcript. A student cannot be readmitted to the University to complete only a minor.

Note: Established prerequisites for 300-level classes will be applied. Passing the Junior Review (in the area of the majority of the coursework) will be necessary to complete the Fine Arts General minor.
