Admission Requirements
The requirements for admission to the BA/BS-MAT (also knows as the 4+1 Program) are as follows:
- Students must have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
- Students can apply to the BA/BS-MAT program through the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions and begin taking classes in this program upon completion of at least 60 credit hours.
- BA-MAT students can apply up to 15 graduate credits taken as an undergraduate to their MAT Initial degree.
- Students must successfully complete the appropriate MTELs before they can be admitted to the MAT program. Therefore, they are encouraged to take the MTEL in their senior year.
Notes
There may be revisions to the program requirements to reflect on-going developments in State regulations and educational reform.
This program is aligned to the Professional Standards for Teachers set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as well as the appropriate Subject Matter Knowledge frameworks. It is also aligned to the national InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards.
