The first seven semesters of the curriculum are the same as that for students pursuing the Clinical Laboratory Science option. Students interested in this option need to identify that interest during the first two weeks of MLS 301 to their academic advisor.

Note
All students must be recommended by the department chairperson to an approved biotechnology industrial site. The university cannot guarantee placement in an approved biotechnology industrial site. Health Services Option
Requirements
External students must have completed an Associate’s Degree and be certified in one of the allied health professions and have 60 transfer credits having the appropriate array of courses to meet Programmatic, University Studies, and College Distribution requirements expected at that level. Future course selections depend on the certification held, the completion of necessary pre-requisite courses, and the candidates work experiences. Internal candidates must have completed the first four semesters of the CLS option before considering the Health Services Option.
