Art History Minor

Qualified students may complete a minor in Art History within the Art History, Art Education, and Media Studies Department.  The minor consists of 18 credits.  To declare an Art History Minor, students must be a degree candidate who has earned at least 24 credits, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and a minimum 2.5 grade point average in their major.

Admission to the Minor


Students with at least 24 University credits, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, and a 2.5 grade point average in their majors may request admission to the Art History Minor. Permission may be granted by the Chairperson provided such request is made in writing at any time before graduation. Forms are available using the Bonita Process Management System. A minor must be completed at the time of the degree and will be so noted on the student’s transcript.  A student cannot be readmitted to the University to complete only a minor.

Requirements


  • At least 18 credit hours in Art History (designated by the prefix ARH or approved by the department); 9 credits must be at the 300+ level or in a course meeting seminar requirements that has been approved for this purpose by the department.
  • Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA in all Art History courses.

Choose 1 course from the following (3 credits)


ARH 4XX 400 level ARH elective - Credits: 3
