Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted to the program students must have earned 60 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.7.

One methods course in licensure subject area:

BIO 635 - Biology Content Metods 3 credits
ENL 549 - Teaching English: Classroom Methods 3 credits
FLL 524 - Theory and Practice of Teaching Foreign Languages 3 credits
HST 501 - Teaching History and Social Science in Middle and Secondary Schools 3 credits
MTE 510 - Modern Methods in Math Teaching 3 credits
PHY 530 - Methods and Strategies for Physics Teachers 3 credits
SCI 636 - Methods and Resources in Chemistry for Secondary Educato 3 credits

Notes

Undergraduate students cannot take graduate courses without first having been admitted to the Education Minor. Once admitted, students must register for these courses at the registration window in the Foster Administration Building.

Completing a Minor in Education does not fulfill all teacher licensure requirements. In order to complete a teacher license program, you must apply for a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate or a MAT Initial License program.
