Return to: Degrees and Other Programs Offered
A student can request entrance to the minor program in sociology after completing at least 45 credits with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and with at least a 2.5 grade point average in his/her major. Requests must be approved by the Chair of the Sociology/Anthropology/Crime and Justice Studies Department.
It is possible to have both a major and a minor in the Department: e.g. a major in Sociology with a minor in Anthropology. Courses used to meet requirements for the minor may not be used to meet requirements of the major. Students with majors outside the College of Arts & Sciences may complete a minor without meeting the CAS distribution requirements. Courses counting for the minor must be completed with a C- or higher. Contact: Prof. Andrea Klimt, 508-999-8831, aklimt@umassd.edu.
