Photography Minor (18 credits)

Enhance your artistic abilities with a minor in photography.  You’ll develop your technical and aesthetic skills as you study traditional and contemporary artists, practices, and techniques. 

Your studies may include:

*  black and white darkroom photography

*  color digital imaging & printing

*  large format photography

*  studio lighting

*  video

*  the history of photography

 

To declare a Photography Minor, students must be a degree candidate who has earned at least 24 credits, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and a minimum 2.5 grade point average in their major.

 

Note: Minors in this concentration may be required to have a laptop.

Note: Students must pass sophomore and/or junior level reviews to moving to advanced level courses.

 

Photography Core Courses (6 credits)

AXD 281 Introduction to Darkroom Photography

AXD 282 Introduction to Digital Photography

AXD 381 Photo Narratives

AXD 382 Advanced Techniques and Concepts in Photography

AXD 308 History of Photography

 

And 1 course from the following  (3 credits)

AXD 288 Photo Processes Printmaking

AXD 384 Digital Video Production

AXD 385 Lighting for Photography

Electives


Take at least 3 elective credits from the following list:
