French and Spanish Minor

Students minoring in French and Spanish will complete 18 credits in their minor field: two (2) foundational courses, two (2) or more core electives, and two (2) general electives from an approved list.
French minor:
- Foundational Courses : FRN 301, 331 and a Capstone course
- Core Electives: FRN 300- and 400-level FRN classes and list of approved courses
- General Electives: FRN 201, 202, 204, 302, 332
Spanish minor:
- Foundational Courses : SPA 301, 312, 314, and a Capstone course
- Core Electives: All 300- and 400-level SPA classes
- General Electives: SPA 201, 202, 209, 300, 302, 331, 332
The minors in French and Spanish may be elected by students majoring in any other field.
Any degree candidate who has between 54 and 84 credits, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and a 2.5 grade point average in his or her major, may request admission to a minor in the Department of Foreign Literature and Languages. Before being admitted to a Global Languages and Cultures minor, students must obtain permission from the department chairperson.
A minor must be completed at the time of the degree and will be so noted on the student’s transcript. A student cannot be readmitted to the University to complete only a minor.
