Portuguese Minor

Students pursuing a minor in Portuguese develop a strong foundation in the language and receive a thorough introduction to the cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world that will complement any major.
The goals for the Minor in Portuguese are:
- Development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Portuguese;
- Appreciation of cultural practices from the Portuguese-speaking world;
- Development of critical arguments about literary and non-literary expressions
A minor must be completed at the time of the degree and will be so noted on the student’s transcript. A student cannot be readmitted to the University to complete only a minor.
Minors in Portuguese must complete 18 credits as follows.

Requirements
In order to earn a minor in Portuguese, students must complete 18 credits of POR courses, with the following requirements:
- Any three POR courses at the 300-level or above - 9 credits
- Any three POR courses - 9 credits
