PHL 110 - Logical Thinking3 credits C An introduction to the methods and principles used to distinguish correct from incorrect reasoning. The course aims at imparting skill in identifying fallacies in reasoning and in using elementary formal techniques to analyze natural language arguments. In addition, such topics as the nature of meaning, the various uses of language, and the logic of science are discussed. Students who complete this course should not enroll in PHL 108.
